The international airport of Santiago de Compostela is located 15 kilometres from the city. It is the main airport in the province of Galicia. It is a new, modern and comfortable airport. The two boarding gates, the waiting areas and the shopping areas are well distributed with plenty of natural light.
The new terminal has significantly improved the number of flights, frequency of aircraft (flights to_from Santiago) and the service and comfort of passengers flying to Santiago.

To get to Santiago from the airport you can use the N-634a or take the A-54 motorways. A taxi from the airport to the centre of Santiago costs around 22 €. The bus service to and from Santiago is operated by Freire, with a one-way ticket costing 3€, and a return ticket costing 5€.

There are three stops in the city of Compostela: the bus station, train station and on the street Doutor Teixeiro. Buses leave every half hour from the airport, the first bus leaving at 6:45 am and the last at 00:45 am. It takes half an hour depending on your stop.

The Faculty of Medicine is located in the Historic core of the city at only 100 meters from the Plaza do Obradoiro. Santiago is a small city where it is easy to move walking.
The Historic core is only accessible by walking or by taxi.

In October, it is quite difficult to foresee the weather in Galicia due to the strong variations observed between years. However, take note of average values of the precipitation rates (3.5 L/m2) and max-min temperatures (23ºC-11ºC) issued from the data of the last 10 years, for the period 4-8 October.

You will find all the weather forecast details at the following webpage: Meteo Galicia
